Ai Wei

Joining Huawei in 1993, Mr. Ai Wei is a Huawei Fellow and has been engaged in the telecommunication industry. Now he is responsible for the strategic planning of Huawei’s chipsets and hardware technology.

Dr. Chen Lei

Chief Scientist of MindSpore, Huawei

IEEE Fellow; ACM Distinguished Scientist; Professor of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at HKUST, Hong Kong, China; receiver of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars

Chen receives his doctoral degree from the University of Waterloo, Canada. Chen's research focuses on human-powered AI, knowledge graph, blockchain, data privacy, social media mining, query optimization on large graphs, and probabilistic databases. Chen has published over 300 papers in top conferences and journals in the database filed and won the prestigious ACM SIGMOD Test of Time Award and VLDB Best Demonstration Award. Chen was VLDB 2019 PC co-chair, and is an executive member of VLDB Endowment. Now he serves as editor-in-chief of the VLDB Journal and associated editor-in-chief of IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering (TKDE).

Craig Russell

Craig Russell is a core member of the Apache Software Foundation (ASF) as well as a member of the Apache Incubator Project Management Committee. He specializes in database APIs, and is an ORM architect in Java and Javascript for Sun and Oracle. Having been involved with the ASF since 2005, and having served as Apache Secretary and ambassador since 2010, Craig has chaired the ASF since May 2019.

David Rusling

David founded Linaro and is its CTO while working at Advanced RISC Machines as an Arm Fellow. David always enjoyed mathematics, but America’s space program together with ‘Star Trek’ made him think that computers were really interesting and so he graduated in 1982 with a degree in Computer Science. At Digital Equipment Corporation he got involved in the port of Linux® to the Alpha processor. This gave him an abiding respect for the power of open source in general and Linux in particular. He worked on StrongArm before moving to Arm where he added tools experience. At Arm he continued to be involved in open source and as a reward for his meddling was made an Arm Fellow. He helped create Linaro, becoming its CTO in 2010.

Han Naiping

Executive President of Kylinsoft Corporation; member of the expert group for Core Electronic Devices, High-End Generic Chips and Basic Software of National Science and Technology Major Projects of China.

Han is an expert with 25 years of working experience in the field of independent operating systems.

Hou Jinlong

Mr. Hou Jinlong is the President of the Cloud & AI BG of Huawei. His responsibilities cover cloud, artificial intelligence, big data, intelligent computing, storage, intelligent video analytics and other product areas.

Mr. Hou Jinlong joined Huawei in 1996 and has extensive management experience. He has served as Huawei Wireless GSM Product Manager, Huawei Wireless Product Sales Director, Huawei Wireless Product Marketing Engineering Director, CEO of TD Tech and President of the Network Energy Product Line.

Mr. Hou Jinlong graduated from the Computer Science and Engineering Department of Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 1992 with a major in Computer Applications.

Hu Tianjian

Hu Tianjian was born in Xinyu, Jiangxi Province in November 1987.

Hu attended Tsinghua University and acquired a Bachelor's degree from its Department of Precision Instruments and a Ph.D. degree from its School of Aerospace Engineering. After graduation, he worked as an assistant researcher at the Beijing Institute of Tracking and Telecommunications Technology (BITTT). He is now a postdoctoral researcher of the Future Laboratory, Tsinghua University, and technical director of the robot musical band Mojia.

Academically, Hu is a productive researcher who has published more than 30 papers in a wide range of fields, including robot dynamics and control, trajectory planning and obstacle avoidance, remote operation, and human-computer interaction. He has also contributed to the design and R&D of robot products. These products include the xx robot remote OS, the first-generation self-developed neurosurgery robot, and flexible robotic arms designed for high-speed metal stamping in automotive assembly.

Jan Medvesek

Jan Medvesek is a technical co-founder of Emotech. He obtained his PhD degree in Computer Science at University College London and had the opportunity to collaborate with Microsoft, MathWorks and BBC. Before that he collaborated on industrial Computer Vision projects across Europe and the development of 3D glasses, used by millions of consumers and B2B markets.

Jonathan Bryce

Jonathan Bryce, who has spent his career building the cloud, is Executive Director of the OpenStack Foundation. Previously he was a founder of the Rackspace Cloud. He started his career working as a web developer for Rackspace, and during his tenure, he and co-worker Todd Morey had a vision to build a sophisticated web hosting environment where users and businesses alike could turn to design, develop and deploy their ideal website – all without being responsible for procuring the technology, installing it or making sure it is built to be always available. This vision became the Rackspace Cloud. Since then he has been a major driver of OpenStack, the open source cloud software initiative.

Li Chengwen

Li Chengwen has a postgraduate degree in system analysis and integration from Beijing Normal University, and now works for the CCB Fintech Beijing business group as the project manager of the credit card and open bank team and the safe production and HA product line. Li's work experience in Microsoft, Xiaomi, and CCB Fintech has made him an expert in distributed technologies and microservice. He has contributed to key CCB projects, including the development of a next-generation credit card system, host service migration, and the international promotion of CCB credit cards. His roles in these projects demonstrate his dedication to modernizing the CCB credit card system with information technologies.

Li is currently leading the project for a new CCB credit card system powered by the Kunpeng platform and GaussDB. His goal involves integrating different underlying software and hardware with distributed technologies to build a compound credit card system that features high scalability, performance, availability, and security. His project team plans to build a dual-track operation mechanism for the industry's first Kunpeng-based core financial system. They are leading the way in empowering core financial applications with the Kunpeng platform.

Li Congbing

Li headed the R&D of Tencent's first leisure game QQtang, and the first 3D online game QQ Fly Car. Going from strength to strength, he was dedicated to the R&D of Tencent's basic gaming technologies. In this process, Li contributed to developing various technical systems, such as TSF4G, Tcaplus, and GCloud, allowing Tencent to provide a high-performance technical architecture for a massive number of online game users. In addition to basic technology R&D, he also led the development of Tencent Games Platform (TGP), a platform for game releases that serves a large number of PC users. Currently, Li is committed to building a next-generation cloud-based online game R&D engine platform.

Dr. Li Jin

Dr. Li Jin is a co-founder and the CTO of Apulis Technology, the managing director of the Artificial Intelligence Research Center of Shenzhen - Tsinghua University, and an IEEE Fellow. Prior to that, Dr. Li was a Partner Research Manager of Cloud Computing and Storage for Microsoft Research (Redmond, WA). The DL Workspace headed by Dr. Li is the main AI development platform of Microsoft, and is widely used by Bing and Microsoft Cognitive Service.

Li Tao

Professor and doctoral advisor of Nankai University

Visiting scholar to the Department of Computer Science & Engineering of Minnesota University Li teaches Computer Organization and Intelligent Computing Systems at Nankai University, and is head of its intelligent IoT faculty. His research covers a wide range of fields, including heterogeneous computing and intelligent IoT. He has been appointed the Popular Science Ambassador of Tianjin in recognition of his tremendous contributions to scientific research in the city. He was also named as one of the Young Leading Scientists, Engineers and Innovators of Tianjin by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China.

Liu Gang

Liu Gang joined Yunxingyu in 2006, where he served as the manager of the software business group of the research center before moving to his current role of the general manager of the tolling business group. Liu has spent the past 13 years developing and innovating highway toll collection systems inside and outside China, and has contributed to building highway toll collection systems in Beijing (China), Ethiopia, and Uganda. For his efforts, he has won multiple awards, including the Science and Technology Award of the Beijing Highway and Transportation Society, and Award of Beijing Enterprise Management Modernization and Innovation.

Liu Hongqian

Member of the board of directors and President of iSoft Infrastructure Software Co., Ltd

Liu started her IT career in 2002 when she worked for Microsoft China, National Engineering Laboratory (Modeling and Emulation in E-Government), and later Taiji Computer before joining iSoft in 2019. In her current position, Liu has helped the company enhance its core competitiveness in the general-purpose Linux OS and AUTomotive Open System ARchitecture (AUTOSAR), propelling iSoft to become an important platform of basic software R&D for China Electronics Technology Group Corporation.

Liu Wenhuan

General Manager of UNIONTECH

As the founder of Deepin, Liu led the proprietary development of the Deepin OS, which ascended to the top 10 of the international OS distributions. Last year Liu founded UNIONTECH and embarked on the journey to lift Chinese operating systems to a new height.

Mike Milinkovich

Mike Milinkovich has been engaged in the software industry for more than 30 years, from software engineering to product management and IP licensing. He is responsible for supporting the Eclipse open source community and its business ecosystem. Before joining Eclipse, Mike was the vice president of the Oracle development team.

Mike is a member of the Executive Committee of the Java Community Process (JCP) and a board member of the Open Source Initiative (OSI) and OpenJDK communities.

Peixin Hou

Peixin Hou is currently serving as the Chief Expert of Open Software in Huawei. He has been working in the software industry for over 20 years and has experience in operating systems, mobile software, media processing, and cloud computing.

Peixin started his open source journey in 2000 and is now an active strategist and evangelist in the field. He is involved in defining various key strategies on open source for Huawei and leads the company's free and open-source software (FOSS) development in areas such as Linux and containers. He also serves as a board or steering committee member in several open source projects, such as Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) and Core Infrastructure Initiative (CII). Peixin has also represented Huawei on the board of Linaro.

Peixin received his Ph.D. from the University of Surrey, UK in electronic and electrical engineering.

Steven Ma

After Steven Ma graduated from the EMBA program of Fudan University in Shanghai, he began his career as the general manager of the entertainment group of Guangzhou Guangtong Communication Development before moving to Tencent in 2007. Going from strength to strength, Ma was elected Senior Vice President in 2013 and has served the role ever since. He manages a wide range of Tencent businesses, including the collaborative development and release of games, QQTalk, back-end R&D and operation support, and the global business expansion and investment of Tencent Games.

Since he took charge of Tencent Games, Ma has marked a number of milestones in the history of global online games. He has contributed to developing a string of well-known and quality games, such as Dungeon & Fighter, CrossFire, QQ Dancer, and League of Legends (LOL), which have tremendously boosted the company's performance growth.

Dr. Tian Qi

Tian Qi, Chief Scientist of Computer Vision, Huawei Noah's Ark Laboratory, doctor of the University of Illinois, IEEE Fellow, Professor of the Department of Computer Science at UTSA, Changjiang Chair Professor of the Ministry of Education, China, receiver of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and member of the 14th 1,000 Talents Plan of China.

Tian has served as an evaluation expert of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, a lecturer at Tsinghua University, and a visiting professor at the Institute of Computing Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the University of Science and Technology of China, and Zhejiang University.

Tian has won the Google Faculty Research Award, the President's Distinguished Achievement Awards of UTSA, and has been honored as one of the 10 most influential scholars in the multimedia field. Tian has published more than 500 articles in top journals, such as the IEEE TPAMI, IJCV, TIP, and TMM.

Wang Bo

Technical Director, Kunpeng Software Porting and Performance Tuning, Kunpeng Computing PDU, Huawei

He led the rebuilding of STB products' software architecture, the pre-research and application of AI technologies, such as speech/super resolution/graphics and image recognition, ultra-large-capacity SMS distribution algorithm and architecture design, the customer care messaging service system, SMS database architecture design and performance tuning.

Wang shared multiple topics about Kunpeng software porting and performance tuning at technical salons such as Arch Summit and OpenResty. He is also the author of popular blogs on TaiShan code porting and Kunpeng performance tuning.

Wang led his team in R&D, rebuilding, and performance tuning of multiple products and projects based on Kunpeng processors. The team has made great contributions to the application of Kunpeng processors and TaiShan servers. It has cooperated with industry customers and ecosystem partners to develop dozens of projects and has a deep understanding of Kunpeng processors and software porting.

Wang Weiqiang

Wang Weiqiang joined Yonyou in 2015 and has since been engaged in NC Cloud product R&D, quality assurance, and product O&M.

The NC Cloud is a high-end product line of Yonyou Group. It provides comprehensive digital solutions to people, finance, things, and facilitates the digital transformation of large enterprises.

Wang Yawei

Wang Yawei is the R&D technical director of HUAWEI CLOUD DevCloud and the chief expert of software development technologies. He now leads a cross-regional team to explore and productize cutting-edge technologies in the software and cloud development field.

Mr. Wang specializes in software development technologies and is a former senior R&D director in Microsoft's Developer Division. In Microsoft, he worked in multiple countries and regions around the world to lead a branch of international teams. His team had participated in and released multiple development technologies and products, covering developer tools, middleware, and Azure developer services. His team members were maintainers or committers of open-source communities such as Spring, Ansible, Jenkins, and Eclipse.

Mr. Wang has released and granted multiple core patents on development technologies. He was invited to give keynote and branch speeches at various industry events, such as Microsoft, SpringOne Platform, DevOps Days, and HUAWEI CONNECT. He has led cooperative development projects with well-known open source software companies in the US and has a deep understanding of software engineering practices in the industry.

Wang Yaowen

Deputy Director and Member of the Party Leadership Group, Government Services and Data Management Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality

Wang has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. Before moving to her current position, Wang had a long history of distinguished civil service, including:

Deputy Director of the Office of Government Set-up Committee of Shenzhen Municipality.

Director of the Civil Service Management Department and the Information Department of Human Resources and Social Security Administration of Shenzhen Municipality.

Investigator of the Bureau of Personnel of Shenzhen Municipality.

Dr. Yuan Jing

Dr. Nicholas (Jing) Yuan is currently General Manager of AI Services, Chief Scientist, and Director of Language & Speech Innovation Lab at HUAWEI CLOUD. He was previously Deputy GM of AI Creation Business Team, also a Senior Applied Scientist Lead/Manager in Microsoft. Before that, he worked as a researcher in Microsoft Research Asia. Nicholas led the AI Creation Business Team in Microsoft to develop AI technologies & systems for Microsoft Xiaoice such as multi-modal modern Chinese poem generator (image to poem), music generation (Xiaoice Band), Artistic photo generation from music (music to image), and AI financial content generation platform, serving more than 90% organizational users and covered 40% consumer market in China. These projects have been featured by more than 1800 international & domestic medias, including Business Insider, The Verge, South China Morning Post, CCTV (the state television broadcaster in China) and People's Daily.

He also led Bing CJK Applied Science Team to develop core technologies & products for Bing in China, Japan, and Korea (CJK) markets, such as pipelines for knowledge graph construction. During the past few years, Nicholas has published more than 60 papers in top-tier conferences and journals, including several best paper awards such as SIGKDD (2016, 2018), ICDM (2013), and SIGSPATIAL (2010). His research work has been featured by influential media such as MIT Technology Review many times, and was reported directly to Bill Gates (Founder of Microsoft) by himself.

He was horored with several distinguished awards, such as Natural Science Price of State Ministry of Education (Frist Class), Distinguished Doctoral Dissertation Award of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Microsoft Fellowship. He served regularly as program committee members in top tier conferences such as SIGKDD, WWW, ACL, AAAI etc. He is a senior member of CCF & IEEE.

Sunny Yan

Sunny Yan is the Director of Huawei's Kunpeng Computing PDU, which covers the development of general-purpose and AI computing products. The PDU is responsible for the development of products in the Kunpeng Computing and Atlas domains.

Sunny joined Huawei in 2000 and has rich experience in R&D team management. She has served as the General Manager of the SingleOSS domain of the cloud core network and the Director of the Cloud Communications Development Mgmt Dept.

Zhang Dixuan

Zhang Dixuan has been with Huawei for over 13 years and has worked in R&D and system design positions. Dixuan has headed the R&D and launch of the Huawei KunLun Mission Critical Server, and is now responsible for the industry research, go-to-market, and delivery of AI intelligent hardware, covering intelligent computing hardware infrastructure, G series heterogeneous servers, and AI intelligent computing solutions. These products and solutions are built to meet scenario-specific requirements of industry customers.

Zhang Rutao

Zhang Rutao, Principal Engineer of Huawei Kunpeng Computing PDU, also serves as Chief Architect of the Huawei Kunpeng Developer Kit. Zhang has been engaged in software development for over 20 years, and possesses extensive experience in development, porting, performance profiling and tuning within both embedded and enterprise software domains.

As a former Principal Engineer of the Arm Open Source Software department, Zhang specializes in open source software projects on the Arm64 platform. He has contributed to Ceph, OpenStack, SPDK, DPDK, and Spark, and has collaborated with Linaro on the Arm64 Enterprise Reference Platform project. Zhang has shared his vast knowledge of software development and tuning during Arm64 platform demonstrations at open source community conferences and summits, including OpenStack and Ceph.

Zhao Chen

Director of Institute of Software, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS); researcher and doctoral advisor

Renowned thanks to the research in formal logic, programming languages, and basic software, Zhao is a trailblazer in a wide range of fields. In recent years, he proposed the method of representing the Kripke model on Von Neumann machine, enabling the world's first compilation system capable of executing the temporal logic programming language XYZ/E. In addition, he proposed the test case generation approach based on dual scripting language, and contributed to the R&D of an automated testing tool for the parallel optimization compilation system, which has been successfully applied by influential chip manufacturers across the world. Zhao has also been engaged in multiple national scientific projects, and has published over 50 papers in conferences and journals inside and outside China. In recognition of his achievements in the technological field, he won the Second Class Award of State Science and Technology Progress Award.

Zhuang Hongbin

CEO & Co-Founder, Emotech

Zhuang founded Emotech in London in 2015 with the goal of better integrating technology into everyday life with AI R&D. Before founding Emotech, Zhuang worked as Product Manager and then Director of His ten-year career at Renren saw him transform it into the largest social media platform in China and lead it to an IPO on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) in 2011.

Zhuang has continued to enjoy success in the AI field with Emotech. In 2017, the Emotech Olly Robot, the world’s first home robot with personality, won 4 CES Innovation Awards. The Olly development team was even featured the BBC documentary series Made in Britain in June 2017, raising awareness of the company's achievements and goals. 2018 was equally fruitful for Zhuang:

In January, Zhuang was invited as CEO of Emotech by MIT Technology Review to address EmTech China.

In June, Zhuang was named one of the Top 100 Asian Tech Stars by the UK think tank Diversity UK.

In October, he was named Best Chinese Entrepreneur in London by PwC UK.

Zhuang and his team have continued to pursue success. In February 2019, Emotech received the One to Watch Award at the London Business Awards hosted by London & Partners.
