• Description
Each campus contains areas that can only be accessed by those who have been authorized. However, employing security guards in each of these areas is expensive. To solve this problem, HUAWEI CLOUD has worked with its industry partners to provide an end-to-end, unattended entry and exit control solution.
• Trends and Requirements
The way to interact with access control terminals are evolving from swiping cards to contactless biometric authentication, including fingerprint, face, and iris recognition. Among these, facial recognition is the most widely used because of its maturity and convenience.
more detail
Description
The turnstiles and access control devices in a campus capture and collect human faces in real time, invoking HUAWEI CLOUD EI's facial retrieval interface to determine whether access should be granted. Once the member of staff enters, the access record is reported to the cloud. The turnstiles and access control devices also all have a QR code, which people can use to access the campus even when the local network is down. The cloud platform pushes the application image of the device management service to the edge computing nodes of the campus to ensure that devices can be managed remotely.
Highlights
- Local QR codes ensure availability and reliability in the event of network disconnections.
- The solution uses a standard architecture with data stored and functions provided on the cloud. To implement their functions, turnstiles use RESTful APIs and SDKs. The solution architecture supports the unified management and control of turnstiles supplied by different brands and vendors.
- Entry and exit records and facial images are stored in the database, supporting end-to-end querying and source tracing.
