State Grid Henan Electric Power Company maintains the entire Henan power grid with the capacity reaching up to 70 million kW, located at the hub of the national power supply network. In January 2021, Henan Electric Power Company teamed up with Huawei Cloud Stack to build China's first provincial energy big data center providing a wide range of smart solutions to converge huge volumes of energy data and help the government make data-driven decisions.

A "One-level Operations + Two-level Maintenance" architecture
With the cloud platform powered by Huawei Cloud Stack, State Grid has built a unified electric power cloud covering its HQ plus 14 provincial subsidiaries. The unified cloud uses a "one-level operations and two-level maintenance" architecture that allows for unified resource monitoring and management. As a provincial subsidiary, Henan Electric Power Company provisions services and manages resources through a central operations platform at the HQ, and uses its own level-2 maintenance system (under the level-1 maintenance system at the HQ) for routine maintenance including alarm management, troubleshooting, and resource scaling, as well as centralized management of diverse clouds and virtual resource pools.

Huawei Cloud Stack's Data Lake Governance Center (DGC) provides Henan Electric Power Company with a way to streamline data ingestion, conversion, and consolidation. It breaks down barriers to data sharing, enriches data models, and continuously improves data quality; it unifies data standards and standardizes interface calls, achieving Data as a Service (DaaS); it strengthens the data O&M and related systems, supporting the application of multi-dimensional lean management; it supports unified buildout of information systems and development of digital products, promotes the adoption of big data applications, and provides analytical services, powering data operations.
