Why HUAWEI CLOUD?
KTC chose Huawei Cloud because it can meet their requirements as follow:
Currently, customers use on-premise, whether it is a core credit card, or loyalty system, but the problems are:
• The old system has been in use for more than 20 years. At present, it is almost obsolete (expired), and must be renewed.
• Need a cloud-based system, including a guideline for using a Multi-Cloud vendor to back up data to prevent risks, if any DC has problems, it will not affect the whole system.
• The original resource usage is uncontrollable, and elastic scaling cannot be performed during peak or off-peak hours.
• PaaS and SaaS products are required so that customers can focus only on service running status and do not need to pay too much attention to underlying resources.
• Difficult O&M: Complex networking in physical equipment rooms, high O&M labor costs, and slow troubleshooting.
• Outdated devices, limited performance and capacity: The number of accounts were supported by the credit card system and the service performance was limited.
Solutions
- Cloud Container Engine (CCE/CCE Turbo) that can flexibly adjust performance according to the transactions that occur, meet the needs of multi-cloud, able to migrate customer programs to run on many Cloud vendors.
- RDS that customers do not have to operate, do not have to create a database, more convenient to use and operate.
- Direct Connect, a lease line that connects the customer's data center to Huawei quickly and cheaply.
- Set-up Cloud Foundation: Huawei has sent consultant team to collect data and help design the basics of the network and security system to ensure the safety of use and access to the cloud and help support partners during Setup Cloud Foundation.
- GaussDB: GaussDB is highly available, secure, and scalable and provides enterprise-grade capabilities including quick deployment, backup, restoration, monitoring, and alarms.
- Enterprise Router: An enterprise router connects virtual private clouds (VPCs) and on-premises networks to build a central hub network. It has high specifications, provides high bandwidth, and delivers high performance.
- Optical Character Recognition: Optical Character Recognition (OCR) detects and extracts text from images, scanned copies, PDFs, and OFD files, and converts the recognition results into editable text.
- Face Recognition Service: FRS is an intelligent service that uses computers to process, analyze, and understand facial images based on human facial features. It provides services through open Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
- Data Warehouse Service: GaussDB (DWS) is a next-gen, all-scenario data warehouse that features one-stop analysis with unlimited performance and capacity. Through distributed query optimization, GaussDB (DWS) can handle a large number of concurrent point queries in seconds, or even milliseconds.
- Landing Zone: Landing Zone, short for basic multi-account environment, is initially deployed by RGC and complies to the best practices. It centrally manages accounts and networks, simplifying O&M while reducing costs. Local nodes eliminate private line costs.
