Cutting-edge tech 1: China's first enterprise intelligence (EI)
HUAWEI CLOUD EI aims to provide enterprises with one-stop artificial intelligence (AI) platform services, including rich granular APIs, diversified algorithms for various industries, and heterogeneous computing infrastructures. EI enables all enterprises to use AI in a simpler, faster manner for all functions and products. Huawei aims to use HUAWEI CLOUD EI to share the capabilities, knowledge, and methods learned from solving its own internal production, logistic, supply chain, and terminal domain issues with AI, to other enterprises. HUAWEI CLOUD EI is applicable to enterprise application scenarios, helping enterprises achieve intelligence. HUAWEI CLOUD EI provides 30 services, including essential EI platform services (such as Deep Learning and Graph Engine Services), general-purpose services (such as Big Data, Visual Cognition, Voice & NLP, Facial Recognition, Image Recognition, and Content Moderation), and industrial scenario solutions (such as iWater, iManufacturing, iPower, iTransport, iFinance, and iRetail). Currently, many large and medium-sized enterprises have opted for HUAWEI CLOUD EI, applying it in Shenzhen Traffic Brain Project, Pacific Insurance, China Merchants Bank, Schindler, Xinzailing, Topstar, and the medical retail giant Jointown.
Cutting-edge tech 2: China's first Bare-Metal Container
With the explosion of Kubernetes in 2017, containers have been rapidly growing in China. The Bare-Metal Container feature was unveiled for HUAWEI CLOUD Cloud Container Engine (CCE) service in China. It runs containers on physical machines. Backed by Huawei network and Bare Metal Server (BMS), Bare-Metal Container provides better choices for scenarios requiring high performance, such as games, AI, or Big Data. As the latest Windows container is released, other enterprise applications developed using .NET can also be rapidly and smoothly migrated to the cloud.
Cutting-edge tech 3: China's first commercial use of Service Mesh, facilitating microservice reconstruction
In 2017, Service Mesh was the largest technical hotspot in the cloud native field, serving as the infrastructure layer for communication between services. It solves the complex communication problems of the traditional distributed system cloud architecture without single-language binding. With Service Mesh, distributed cloud reconstruction can be quickly completed for legacy applications in a non-intrusive manner. HUAWEI CLOUD Cloud Service Engine (CSE) is a Huawei-developed Mesher feature based on Service Mesh. It is the first enterprise-class product to implement Service Mesh technology in China.
Cutting-edge tech 4: Industry-leading multi-lingual microservice solution
Huawei released the industry-leading multi-lingual microservice solution for HUAWEI CLOUD CSE. In the cloudification process, the legacy and new systems are alternately developed. The complex development languages and technology of this process serve as barriers. Applications using Java/.NET/Node.js/PHP/Python are easily moved onto the cloud, helping enterprises reuse language assets efficiently. Enterprises can use CSE to quickly build microservices regardless of which language you are using.
Cutting-edge tech 5: The world's first serverless multi-function multi-event orchestrating service, dealing with complex scenarios
Serverless technology enables enterprises to upload functions on-demand, triggering and charging according to frequency of use regardless of resource occupation. This greatly reduces O&M costs and lets enterprises focus on their business and innovations. HUAWEI CLOUD's FunctionGraph is the world's first workflow service to build applications by orchestrating and executing multiple functions. It also supports workflow tracing and debugging. FunctionGraph meets the serverless requirements of multiple complex scenarios, significantly reducing enterprise O&M costs and improving operation efficiency on the cloud.
Cutting-edge tech 6: Industry-leading Dedicated Cloud (DeC) solution, meeting enterprises' security requirements on the cloud
In the Cloud 2.0 Era, enterprises are paying more and more attention to data and key service security, causing core systems to become a top concern during cloudification. Huawei first launched the DeC solution in the industry to help customers cope with security challenges. DeC is a virtual resource pool isolated from the public cloud. In the DeC, users can apply for dedicated physical devices, or computing and network resources. Additionally, DeC uses reliable distributed storage. It provides dedicated computing capabilities, data, and services for enterprise customers on the cloud, meeting their security requirements.
Cutting-edge tech 7: Leading Bare Metal Server (BMS) in China, helping enterprises migrate key services to the cloud
Resulting from Huawei's years of experience in the server field, their BMS was quickly recognized for its value, becoming the first choice of the industry's bare metal cloud service shortly after being launched. HUAWEI CLOUD BMS is a physically isolated, dedicated physical server for a single tenant. It has excellent computing performance and is just as convenient and fast as a cloud server. It can also be flexibly combined with other cloud products such as Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), to achieve the same stability as traditionally managed hosts with the high flexibility of cloud resources. HUAWEI CLOUD BMS supports shared volumes using the self-developed SDI iNIC, meeting enterprise requirements for core system cluster deployment. BMS's super flagship instance, Huawei KunLun server, provides CPUs with 96 to 384 cores, 4 to 32 TB memory, along with all-flash storage.
Cutting-edge tech 8: Elastic Load Balance (ELB) for hundreds of millions of concurrent connections, enabling applications on the cloud to work more efficiently
As video and game applications are deployed on the cloud, both high-quality networks and high-performance ELB are rapidly becoming a must for customers selecting cloud services. According to Bonree's evaluation report, the network quality of HUAWEI CLOUD is number one in the Chinese public cloud market. It supports hundreds of millions of concurrent connections and implements intra-city active-active Disaster Recovery (DR) across Availability Zones (AZs), ensuring stable and reliable cloud applications. Based on the next-generation intelligent cloud hardware platform Atlas developed by Huawei, HUAWEI CLOUD has launched the industry-leading heterogeneous computing acceleration platform for AI, HPC, and other scenarios. With key technologies such as heterogeneous resource pools and intelligent orchestration, this platform launches new heterogeneous computing instances and solutions, improves hardware resource utilization, and flexibly adapts to service requirements, helping users achieve business breakthroughs in both the AI and HPC fields. With the popularity of AI and deep learning in mind, HUAWEI CLOUD launched its heterogeneous computing platform, providing enterprise users with the best suited cloud infrastructure for cutting-edge service scenarios and the most powerful computing capabilities to accelerate cloud innovations.
As an important component of this heterogeneous platform, HUAWEI CLOUD FPGA Accelerated Cloud Server (FACS) uses the most advanced 16-nanometer Virtex® UltraScale+™ VU9P of Xilinx. A single physical node supports a maximum of eight VU9P FPGA chips. FACS provides an industry exclusive 300 Gbps mesh optical interconnecting channel between FPGA chips, meeting high performance and low latency requirements. HUAWEI CLOUD GPU Accelerated Cloud Server (GACS) provides flexible configuration options such as virtualization and BMSs, and its excellent elastic scalabilities allow users to use computing resources on demand.
