Nov 08, 2024
[Santiago, Chile, November 7, 2024] With the aim of consolidating its leadership in Chile and fostering a prosperous technological ecosystem, Huawei Cloud held the Huawei Cloud Summit Chile 2024 on November 6, highlighting the positive impact of technology on business digitalization and the new solutions available for various industries.
In this context, Huawei Cloud revealed that from 2022 to date it has grown 300% in its local operations and that its plans include expanding its infrastructure in the country and partners network in the Chilean ecosystem.
In this regard, Jacqueline Shi, President of Huawei Cloud Global Marketing and Sales Service, highlighted that these are the results of the company's service model, and its differentiated characters, which consist of the extensive collaborators behind this service. She added: "We know that our clients not only need technology, but also solid industrial experience and talent support. Because the Cloud is in the air, but the local team must be with its feet on the ground, to establish reliable and close working relationships."

With five years of presence in the country, Huawei Cloud collaborates with more than 300 partners and has positioned itself as the first cloud provider to have two availability zones (AZs) in the national territory. This infrastructure not only ensures a latency of 9 ms in Santiago – the lowest in the country – and 50 ms in South America, but also guarantees high resilience to natural disasters, providing stability and data security for its clients.
The Minister of Science Aisén Etcheverry highlighted at the event, "The artificial intelligence and digital transformation agenda today are the pillars to drive growth and government employment. Just as we are working on more infrastructure, more bridges, more hospitals and more prisons, we are also putting a big emphasis on how we encourage the industry's adoption of artificial intelligence, but above all, how we deal with the challenges and of the infrastructure. Artificial Intelligence and digital transformation do not occur in the air or in a vacuum, but rather require changes and require data centers."

In the media sector, Mega also adopted Huawei Cloud technologies, achieving faster and more stable connectivity for its streaming platform, where the use of a digital avatar generated with Artificial Intelligence will debut in near future.
At the same time, the CEO of Huawei Cloud Chile, David Zhang, emphasized that "All these efforts reflect our commitment to the Chilean industry, where we work to provide a world-class Cloud infrastructure that drives the country's digital transformation.
