  • Is Huawei Cloud available to individuals, enterprises, or institutions operating in Egypt?

    Huawei Cloud has been launched in Egypt. Individuals, enterprises, and organizations can register local accounts on the Huawei Cloud International website and purchase cloud services. Applicable laws and regulatory requirements must be complied with during the use of cloud services.

  • What laws, regulations, and regulatory requirements on privacy protection and cyber security require special attention in Egypt?

    Currently, the following laws, regulations, and regulatory requirements on privacy protection and cyber security are in effect:


    • Anti-Cyber and Information Technology Crimes Law (No. 175 of 2018): This was the first systematic law issued by Egypt in the cyber security field. It outlines certain obligations on service providers in terms of cyber security and data privacy. The law explicitly states penalties for cyber crimes with the aim of cracking down illegal activities on the Internet.


    • Enforcement Regulation of Law No. 175 of 2018 on Anti-Cyber and Information Technology Crimes: This regulation further clarifies obligations and responsibilities service providers shall take stated in the Anti-Cyber and Information Technology Crimes Law.


    • Personal Data Protection Law (No. 151/2020) is the first law on personal data protection issued in Egypt. This law describes more comprehensive data protection requirements for individuals and enterprises running businesses in Egypt. Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law was developed in alignment with EU's GDPR. It provides a basic legal framework for protecting personal data in Egypt.

  • How are Huawei Cloud and I each responsible for security compliance?

Huawei Cloud ensures that the infrastructure and services it provides have been assessed by authoritative, independent, third-party agencies and reviewed by the relevant certifying bodies.


    When using Huawei Cloud services, you are responsible for the security and compliance of internal applications and custom configurations of your workloads on the cloud. As the owner and controller of your data, you are responsible for data security configuration, confidentiality, integrity, availability, as well as identity authentication and authorization for data access.


    You are also responsible for compliance with the applicable regulatory requirements for your workloads on the cloud.
