WHEREAS NTRA is the only authority competent to grant licenses and permits to entities willing to establish telecommunication networks infrastructure or provide telecommunication services in Egypt Furthermore, NTRA is the authority responsible for setting forth regulations that guarantee market development, fair and free competition between market players while protecting users rights Accordingly, NTRA has issued the Framework for Establishing and Operating Data Centers and Providing Hosting and Cloud Computing Services As a part of fulfilling the licensing requirements in accordance with the telecom law provisions, entities willing to offer cloud computing services through locally established data centers to customers located in Egypt are required to register with the NTRA as a cloud computing service provider:
1.Registered entities are obliged to hold a valid accreditation certificate from NTRA before concluding any cloud computing ser vic e contracts with customers.
2. Registered entity shall choose the required level of accreditation certificate, NTRA will grant the certificate provided that th e registered entity meets the technical and operational conditions set by NTRA.
3. The accreditation certificate is valid for a period of ( 3 ) years from its date of.
Accreditation Level:
Tier 1: CSP is authorized to offer cloud computing services to natural persons and entities that are not subject to any sectoral laws or regulations governing the use of third parties in storing and handling data.
