Frequently asked questions about ITSS Cloud Computing Service Capability Assessment by the MIIT
What is ITSS cloud computing service capability assessment by the MIIT?
To accelerate the cultivation of enterprises in the cloud computing field, improve cloud computing service capabilities, and effectively standardize the cloud computing service market, China Electronics Standardization Association Information Technology Service Branch (ITSS) organized third-party assessment agencies in September, 2016, to carry out the pilot work of cloud computing service capability assessment under the guidance of the Information and Software Service Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). This assessment is based on the Information Technology — Cloud Computing — General Operational Requirements of Cloud Service standard. As the first graded assessment standard in the cloud service and cloud computing field in China, it includes a comprehensive assessment, which covers personnel, processes, technology, resources, and performance. The assessment includes document reviews, technical tests, on-site spot checks, and personnel interviews to evaluate capabilities of the cloud service provider.
MIIT ITSS has four certification levels. Level 1, the highest assessment level available, requires cloud service providers to have comprehensive quantitative management capabilities and to drive technological innovation and business transformation.
Is Huawei Cloud compliant with ITSS standards?
Huawei Cloud has earned MIIT ITSS Level 1 certification. This means that the infrastructure and cloud services meet the highest standards described in the Cloud Computing Integrated Standardization System Construction Guide released by the MIIT in terms of scale, function, performance, security, personnel, and management.
