  • What is DJCP?

Multi-Level Protection Scheme (MLPS), or DJCP, issued by China's Ministry of Public Security (MPS), is used to provide organizations with cybersecurity standards. It has been widely adopted by a range of industries in China.

DJCP describes five levels of security based on the scope and severity of the potential damage to an information system. No registration is required for information systems rated at level 1 as there is little risk of substantial damage. No information systems are rated at level 5, which sets out the strictest requirements.

Level 2: If the information system is damaged, the legitimate rights and interests of citizens, legal persons, and other organizations will be severely damaged, or the social order and public interests may be damaged, but national security is not at risk. Guidance on the information security from national information security supervision department is required for the information system at this level.

    • Level 3: If the information system is damaged, the social order and public interests will be severely damaged, or national security will be placed at risk. Supervision and inspection by the national supervision department are required.

Level 4: If the information system is damaged, the social order and public interests will be severely damaged, or there will be severe risk to national security. Compulsory supervision and inspection by national regulatory authorities are required.
