Notice on Checking Password Strength During API-based ECS Password Reset

Dear customer,

To improve ECS security and data privacy, Huawei Cloud will check the strength of the new password when you are attempting to reset an ECS password by calling the API. Passwords that are easily guessed or related to mobile numbers will be regarded as weak passwords and cannot be used as new passwords.

To reset the ECS password successfully by calling the API, ensure that the new password meets the following strength requirements:

1. Password length: The password must contain 8 to 26 characters.

2. Password complexity: The password must contain at least three types of the following characters: uppercase letters, lowercase letters, digits, and special characters (!@$%^-_=+[{}]:,./?).

3. Password guessability: The password cannot be an easily-guessed password such as 123456or password, and cannot contain the username or the username spelled backwards.

If the new password does not meet the preceding requirements, the system prompts you to enter a stronger password.
