For security reasons, you are advised to download the SSL certificate to encrypt the connection. By default, SSL is enabled for GaussDB(for MySQL) DB instances. SSL encrypts connections to databases but it increases the connection response time and CPU usage.
After the database is restarted, create a user who uses MD5 encryption to encrypt passwords. You must also change the client connection mode to md5 in the pg_hba.conf file. Log in to the system as the new user.
NOTE: Using KMS to encrypt migrated data may slow down the migration speed by about 10%. This option is only available when KMS is supported in the region you are migrating to. This parameter is only available for migrations to Huawei Cloud OBS.

Customer Master Key A CMK is a key created with KMS and used to encrypt and protect DEKs.
