Billing Items
You are billed based on the number of API calls. For pricing details, see Price Calculator.
An API call is counted only when it is successful (status code 2xx is returned).
Billing Modes
OCR provides two billing modes: pay-per-use and pay-per-package.
Pay-per-Use
Default billing mode, in which you are billed based on the number of API calls.
Pay-per-Package
A package offers a larger discount than the pay-per-use billing mode.
The validity period of a package is one year. Please use your package within its validity period. After the package expires, any quota that comes with it will become invalid.
You need to renew your package or purchase a new package before it expires. Otherwise, the pay-per-use billing mode takes effect automatically.
Packages are charged as the one-off fee and take effect immediately upon payment. Currently, you cannot specify the date when the package takes effect.
Packages can be used together. If you have purchased multiple packages, the deduction rules are as follows:
- Fees are deducted from packages based on the package source type, in the following priority order: free > pay-per-package > pay-per-use.
- Fees are deducted from packages based on the package creation time, effective time, and expiration time.
- If multiple packages are created at the same time, the package that takes effect first is deducted first.
- If multiple packages take effect at the same time, the package that expires first is deducted first.
- If multiple packages will expire at the same time, the package that is created first is deducted first.
NOTE:
Your services can run properly even they are not deployed in the region where the OCR service is called. It is recommended that you select the closest region for low network latency and quick access.
The pay-per-use billing mode is used by default. After you purchase a package, fees are deducted from the package first. If the actual usage exceeds your package quota, you will be billed for subsequently used resources on a pay-per-use basis.
In pay-per-use billing mode, the region where the API is called must be the same as the region where the API is subscribed to. Otherwise, ModelArts.4204 Service is not enabled. is displayed.
In pay-per-package billing mode, the region where you call the API must be the same as the region where you purchase the package. The package does not support cross-region API calling. Otherwise, extra fees or arrears may occur.
OCR Image to Text Pricing
OCR services are billed in two modes and are available in multiple regions based on scenarios. These services include Web Image OCR, Passport OCR, Plate Number OCR, and ID Card OCR. The service types and fees vary depending on regions. For pricing details, see OCR Pricing Details.
How to Buy OCR
Pay-per-use
OCR is billed on a pay-per-use basis by default.
To top up your account, log in to the Huawei Cloud console and choose Billing & Costs.
Top up your account in advance to prevent service impact caused by arrears.
Pay-per-Package
1. Log in to the OCR console, select the region where you want to call an OCR service, locate the OCR service you need in the service list, and click Buy Package in the Operation column.
2. On the Buy OCR Package page that is displayed, select the region, service type, and package specifications.
3. Click Next and complete the payment.
