HUAWEI CLOUD is growing rapidly. The resources and services on the cloud require more refined management and development, which incubates diversified frontier algorithm innovation needs. We are always open to academia, and looking forward to working with university scholars through a deep cooperation on several topics, including cloud resource scheduling and portraits, data compression, voice classification, domain custom ASR, keyword spotting, AI for System, intelligent cache, intelligent P2P network, and operational capacity improvement, etc., to jointly devote to core algorithm innovation and build the industry's top algorithm competitiveness.

1. Protect Rainforest with AI

Cooperating with the rainforest connection organization RFCx and using the upgraded Huawei old mobile phone to collect the sound data in the rainforest, we detect the sound of the chainsaw in the tropical rainforest and issue an alarm to carry out real-time intervention to protect the tropical rainforest from illegal logging and poaching. In addition, the spider monkey's habitation, threat signals, life habits, etc. are analyzed to help the forest keeper protect the spider monkey, an endangered species. So far, the project has been successfully applied to 11 countries, covering 6,000 square kilometers worldwide.
