Security Defense

Security authentication: HUAWEI CLOUD has passed the security authentication standards including C-STAR, Ministry of Industry and Information

  • Technology (MIIT) Trusted Cloud, Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) cloud service cyber security, Ministry of Public Security of the People's Republic of China (MPS) grade-3 protection evaluation, and ISO27001:2015.
  • Four access control mechanisms: Identity and Access Management (IAM), Access Control List (ACL), storage bucket policies, and user signature authentication.
  • Timed access to an object: Provides a URL that is accessible within a specified period of time, allowing anonymous users to access.
  • Server-side encryption: With server-side encryption, OBS can use KMS to manage keys. In addition, it uses AES 256-bit symmetric keys to automatically encrypt your static data, and decrypt your data in download and retrieval.
  • Access logging: Records all requests for OBS. A log bucket can be configured so that all access operations on all other bucket are recorded in the log bucket for audit.
  • Anti-leeching: Configures whitelists and blacklists to prevent resources from being misused.

  • Disaster recovery within a region: With OBS, data can be stored in multiple data centers, protected against node-, cabinet, and data center-level failures.
  • Data integrity check: Periodically checks storage system data integrity, with self-healing enabled.
  • Versioning: Each object can be stored in multiple versions.
  • In case of a misoperation or application breakdown, these versions can restore data to a desired version.
Easy-to-Manage Policies

OBS provides OBS APIs and OBS Console to manage storage policies. It supports the following data management functions:

  • Data lifecycle management: OBS provides programming and policies to set a lifecycle for objects. Objects can be batch deleted, or converted into another storage class (the conversion function will come soon) by time, name prefix, or name suffix.
  • Event notification: When operations in OBS such as uploading and deleting objects trigger preset conditions, the Simple Message Notification (SMN) service can push reliable, extensible, and massive notification messages to subscribers through email, text message, HTTP, and HTTPS. This simplifies system coupling.
  • Static website hosting: Bucket policies can be configured for static website hosting in OBS. A static website contains only static content (such as HTML) or client scripts.
  • Cost monitoring and control: Using OBS Console or APIs, tags can be added to storage buckets, making it easier to track costs of departments, applications, or other items. Tags reflect cost structures. For example, use the name of an application that uses a bucket as a tag. Then the total cost associated with the tag can be seen in bills.
