[Paris, France, October 18, 2022] The Huawei Cloud TechWave Summit themed "Unleash Digital" kicked off in Paris today. At the Summit, Huawei Cloud interprets its insights and strength in cloud native from the perspectives of strategy, business, technology, and ecosystem, and demonstrates how Huawei Cloud helps European customers innovate and grow. Jacqueline Shi, President of Huawei Cloud's Global Marketing and Sales Service, delivered an opening speech and shared the latest strategy and business progress of Huawei Cloud. The Summit is joined by Huawei Cloud's customers and partners, as well as thought leaders from industries, academia, and media, and is fully packed with best practices and application experience sharing.

Releasing the "Everything as a Service" Strategy for Europe
Europe is one of the most important cloud markets, where cloud first has become a consensus among European enterprises. Ms. Shi said, "Huawei and our partners provided cloud services for the first customer in Europe five years ago, and now we have been offering cloud services for thousands of European customers. With a focus on privacy protection, technology innovation, and green infrastructure, Huawei Cloud will intensify investment in Europe to help local enterprises go digital faster."
At the Summit, Ms. Shi announced the latest strategy of Huawei Cloud in Europe: Everything as a Service, which is underpinned by Infrastructure as a Service, Technology as a Service, and Expertise as a Service.
Infrastructure as a Service: Huawei Cloud builds one global network to deliver a seamless service experience at a latency of 50 ms and distribute information flows smoothly, helping customers deploy their global business.
Technology as a Service: Huawei Cloud builds four pipelines for AI development, software development, data governance, and digital content production, turning complicated tech into cutting-edge cloud services for simple use and easy innovation.
Expertise as a Service: Huawei Cloud opens up the experience and practices of Huawei over the past 30 years, as well as those of partners, and provides them on the cloud for shared excellence and successful digital transformation.
"The future will be a future with cloud, digital, and intelligence," said Ms. Shi. Having launched a new Region in Ireland, Huawei Cloud provides a full-stack cloud native solution for Europe, including containers, microservices, databases, and AI. The established R&D, innovation, O&M, ecosystem, and SRE centers of Huawei Cloud will also provide localized services for customers in Europe.
Five Drivers to Accelerate Europe's Digital Economy
The business of Huawei Cloud has maintained rapid growth worldwide over the past year. Gartner's report rates Huawei Cloud as one of the world's top 5 mainstream cloud vendors. Huawei Cloud registered growth in multiple indicators last year: number of high-value customers by 59%, average revenue per user of existing customers by 33%, number of global developers by 67%, and transaction volume in the cloud market by 105%. At the Summit, Mark Chen, Director of Huawei Cloud's Global Solution Sales, delivered a speech, where he proposed the five drivers Huawei Cloud can provide to help Europe accelerate digital economy:
Building Infrastructure as a Service: Huawei Cloud will deploy global data centers in seven Regions and 42 countries around the world and build new PoP nodes to improve the network access performance of each service region for better customer experience.
Leading cloud native innovation: Huawei Cloud thinks and acts cloud native to enable customers with full-stack cloud native. To this end, Huawei Cloud will launch four pipelines and more than 10 services worldwide, such as CCE Turbo and Ubiquitous Cloud Native Service (UCS).
Transforming expertise into excellence: Huawei Cloud provides basic aPaaS services such as KooMessage and KooMap, and industry-specific aPaaS services for manufacturing, government services, coal mines, education, and heating. More than 30,000 APIs are open to enterprise developers so that they can focus on SaaS innovation without the need to reinvent the wheel.
Providing high-quality B2B services: Huawei Cloud is committed to improving its professional, technical support, and cloud migration services to make cloud services more convenient and secure.

At the Summit, Tim Tao, President of Huawei Cloud West Europe, delivered a speech "Embracing the Cloud Native Era in Europe with Partners". He shared his understanding of Europe's digitalization, Huawei Cloud's infrastructure investment, organization, and capability layout in Europe, and partner development plans.

The official launch of Huawei Cloud's Ireland Region underscores the cloud provider's unremitting effort to provide premium cloud experience for more and more European customers. In his speech, Mr. Tao said, "Building a win-win ecosystem with local partners is one of the most important strategies of Huawei Cloud in Europe." To better serve European customers, Huawei Cloud has set up a Partner Cloud Support Center in France, an R&D Center and an Innovation Center in Germany, an Ecosystem Center, an O&M Center, and a Solution Center in Ireland, and an O&M Center in Hungary. These centers help Huawei Cloud better develop products and solutions tailored to the European market, build a local ecosystem, support European startups, and cultivate digital talent needed for the local market.
