[Barcelona, Spain, March 5, 2025] At MWC Barcelona 2025, Huawei's Multilayer Ransomware Protection Solution for Cloud Scenario, or the Huawei C-MRP Solution for short, was certified by Tolly Group, an authoritative international testing organization. The Tolly test on the solution rigorously evaluated four key aspects: intrusion prevention, spread prevention, leakage prevention, and tampering prevention. Using 20 typical test scenarios and corresponding test cases, it stands as the most comprehensive and stringent ransomware protection test that Tolly has conducted to date. The test results confirm that the Huawei C-MRP Solution sets an industry-leading standard.

(The first figure on the left is Xiao Jiwen, director of Huawei Cloud Marketing Execution Dept, and the second figure on the left is Kevin Tolly, founder of the Tolly Group)

Kevin Tolly, founder of the Tolly Group, issued the "Huawei Multilayer Ransomware Protection Solution for Cloud Scenario (C-MRP)" certificate to Huawei on site.

Certificate issued by Tolly Group

Ransomware has long been a major and consistent threat to global cyber security. Attacks are constantly evolving; they have become AI-assisted, target entire supply chains, and have extended to the point of becoming Ransomware-as-a-Service (RaaS). It is crucial for governments and enterprises to strengthen their defensive strategies and enhance data center security to combat this ongoing threat effectively.

Huawei C-MRP Solution coordinates cloud security and storage to build a multilayer ransomware protection system, which prevents intrusions alongside data leaks and tampering, and limits attack spread, enhancing the accuracy of ransomware detection and the security of service data.

· Intrusion prevention:

Cloud security establishes a comprehensive intrusion prevention system across the border, application, and host layers. It can identify mainstream ransomware families using AI, signature, threat information, and abnormal behavior detection. It also quickly detects and isolates high-risk behavior in processes, hosts, and databases.

· Spread prevention:

Cloud security allows compromised hosts to be comprehensively, automatically isolated and addressed within seconds. It also prevents infected data from being replicated to the storage isolation zone.

· Leakage prevention:

Cloud security enables full-lifecycle cloud data leakage prevention and visualizes the entire link of data transfers.

· Tampering prevention:

Cloud security detects threat risks and collaborates with storage to proactively enable preventive data protection. Specific protective measures include creating secure snapshots, backing up critical VMs and locking hardware, and proactively disconnecting the AirGap link. The Recovery Point Objective (RPO) of data restoration can be as short as a few minutes.

Huawei C-MRP Solution inherits the in-depth defense system with pre-, in-, and post-event phases of the MRP Solution, which complies with the Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, and Recover (IPDRR) cyber security framework of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). It is an industry-leading and comprehensive defense solution against ransomware attacks.
