[Shanghai, China, September 21, 2023] HUAWEI CONNECT 2023 is taking place in Shanghai from September 20 to 22. At the summit "From Our Cloud Expertise to Your Business Excellence", Huawei Cloud shared five excellence stories of their customers, announced the PRIME model and PRIME Club for operational excellence, and unveiled Huawei Cloud Stack 8.3 with mainstream availability on September 30, which helps enterprises build versatile models.

Cloud and AI have made their way into the core production systems of businesses. Digitalization and intelligence will surely be the most promising prospects in the coming decade. However, many typical challenges remain throughout digital upgrades, such as how to monitor IT investment and output, modernize applications, or expend globally. Mr. Gao offers a solution: systematic mindset and architecture.

In order to pave the way to digital and intelligence for its clientele, Huawei Cloud will concentrate on three key aspects, drawing from its extensive experience of serving 3 million customers and practical experience of over 500 customer success managers. At the event, Kevin Gao shared excellence stories in industries such as carrier, retail, automotive, e-commerce, and government.

In the carrier industry, China Tower and Huawei Cloud jointly build a two-site three-center architecture that boasts exceptional levels of availability, performance, and scalability. The implementation of GaussDB for Redis has resulted in a remarkable 20-fold enhancement in the power swapping system's performance, while cloud native technology has amplified the scalability of their applications by an impressive 50 times. Consequently, China Tower users can now effortlessly monitor the real-time battery volume, locate swap stations at their convenience, and seamlessly exchange batteries by simply scanning QR codes. The batteries have powered e-bikes to run a total distance of over 78.5 billion kilometers.

In the retail sector, Meiyijia has implemented intelligent recommendation on store location selection with the aid of Huawei Cloud MRS and DWS. Stores can now open in just 27 days, down from two months, and operations data queries are notably faster, from the following day to a mere 15 minutes. Additionally, Huawei Cloud CodeArts has facilitated a 25% reduction in the development and delivery period of Meiyijia's store management application. Such one-stop store opening and operations services make 33,000 Meiyijia storekeepers start and run their business effortlessly. More than 300 new stores open every month.

In the automotive sector, BYD has opted for Huawei Cloud to guarantee the availability of Internet of Vehicles (IoV) services, utilizing the lakehouse architecture of Huawei Cloud Hudi + DWS. This architecture enables the swift retrieval of petabytes of data within seconds, ensuring uninterrupted health diagnosis and global allocation of cloud resources. Through this collaboration, vehicle owners can operate their vehicles remotely, benefiting from a rapid response time and a seamless user experience.

In the e-commerce sector, DingDongFresh leverages the robust compute, cloud native, and AI capabilities offered by Huawei Cloud to enable full-process intelligence in distributed mini warehouses for goods preparation and order management. This integration ensures precise, efficient delivery. The overall order forecast rate surpasses 90%, with the fastest delivery completed in just 29 minutes. Their customers can relish in the convenience of receiving fresh food without the need to venture outside their homes.

In the government sector, Huawei Cloud ROMA Connect, GaussDB (DWS), and SecMaster have played a pivotal role in facilitating the secure, efficient invocation and development of an extensive database comprising hundreds of millions of legal person, credit, and policy records. The Xi'an government has successfully aligned over 2,200 policies with the needs of more than 2 million local individual businesses, and all the operations are done online, significantly mitigating the time and complexity in enterprise declarations.

 

Diving into Cloud and Leading Intelligent Upgrade

Deployed on-premises, Huawei Cloud Stack enables enterprises to establish a secure, reliable, and efficient hybrid cloud with continuous innovation and shift from cloud migration to a dive into cloud. Building Versatile Models for Enterprises

Huawei Cloud Stack 8.3 provides a comprehensive AI pipeline, covering AI compute, compute architecture, frameworks, development platforms, development suites, foundation models, and a wide range of professional services, which lowers the barriers to building models and scaling up AI. Huawei Cloud Stack also leverages software-hardware synergy to optimize operator fusion and mixed precision and has improved the training efficiency by 45%. Pangu models have been used by customers in more than 10 industries. Shandong Energy Group joined hands with Huawei to deploy the world's first mine AI model based on the cloud-edge architecture featuring central training and edge inference for intelligent applications in 9 processes and 21 scenarios.

Building an Industrial Internet Architecture with Five Core Capabilities

Huawei Cloud, featuring extensive industrial expertise, develops an industrial Internet architecture based on Huawei Cloud Stack. The architecture enables cloud-edge synergy, data collection, data convergence, AI Cortex, and application development for industrial purposes. It accommodates a broad spectrum of use cases and boosts full-link industrial production from data collection to intelligent applications. Using this industrial Internet architecture, FAW Group has built its Weishan digital factory, a factory where four major processes and seven workshops have been managed in an intelligent way. The factory has achieved flexible manufacturing, saves energy, and cuts emissions.

Trusted Data Circulation

Huawei Cloud launches a data circulation solution based on their data governance capabilities and data circulation practices to bridge enterprises and data. The solution includes data-AI convergence, blockchain, and privacy computing provided by Huawei Cloud Stack 8.3. It helps enterprises develop high-quality data products such as algorithms, models, and datasets, and makes data available but invisible. Plus, the Exchange Data Space (EDS) service enables trusted circulation and authorized operations of data. It also enables data sharing within a domain.

Huawei Cloud leverages powerful processes and tools plus vast experience in Huawei's Integrated Product Development (IPD) transformation to develop CodeArts, a software development pipeline. Huawei Cloud Stack 8.3 has enriched CodeArts capabilities. It can now provide and continuously iterate more than 30 Huawei-developed core capabilities, such as collaborative development, code guidelines, distribute build, and vulnerability check, for the full links of software supply from infrastructure, software dependencies, and tools. Based on this platform, Haizhou System creates a development cradle for industrial software R&D. The structured processes and contractual R&D in IPD ensure zero delivery deviation. A thousand developers can now efficiently work together.
