API Gateway ensures traffic is correctly routed to the appropriate service units.
NAT Gateway (NAT): An NAT gateway sits between the Internet and your VPC. It hides the IP addresses of internal networks, reducing the risk of attacks on virtual environments. Elastic Load Balance (ELB) distributes traffic across multiple backend nodes.

For details, see Connecting an On-Premises Data Center to a VPC over Two Connections in Load Balancing Mode (Virtual Gateway). Dual-VPN redundancy: Your on-premises data center connects to a Huawei Cloud VPC over two VPN connections to ensure reliability.
API Gateway: Request throttling policies can be created to control the number of times that an API can be called by a single user or application within a specified period.
For example, use ELB, NAT Gateway, and WAF for public network access. Restrict access to external IP addresses through network ports using security groups and NAT gateways to reduce security risks.
NAT gateway Allows multiple cloud servers to share a private IP address to access the local data center or other VPCs, and allows cloud servers to provide services for private networks.
For production with high bandwidth needs, use a VPC with a NAT gateway. If functions do not need to access the network, you are advised not to configure a VPC. For details, see Configuring the Network.
Applications that use API Gateway to expose APIs can use the traffic, latency, and error rate monitoring capabilities provided by API Gateway.
