An OBS Bucket Is Being Used as the Origin Server and an OBS Pull Traffic Package Has Been Purchased. Why Isn't the Origin Pull Traffic Generated by CDN Being Deducted From the OBS Pull Traffic Package?
If you have enabled the OBS agency of the old version, you can reduce permissions by referring to How Do I Replace the Old OBS Agency Permissions with New Ones?
Billing Rules Using CDN to accelerate delivery of files in OBS buckets incurs both CDN and OBS fees. CDN fee: CDN charges you for traffic generated when users access CDN PoPs. OBS fee: OBS charges you for traffic that flows from OBS to CDN during origin pull.
OBS Authorization If you use a Huawei Cloud OBS private bucket as the origin server, enable OBS authorization so that CDN can pull content from your private bucket. Do not delete the agency for authorizing CDN to access OBS.
What Traffic Is Consumed When CDN Requests Resources from OBS? If OBS is used as an origin server, the traffic consumed by CDN to request resources from OBS is origin pull traffic, which is billed by OBS. See Figure 1. Figure 1 Outbound traffic Parent topic: Purchase and Billing

Procedure If the origin server is an OBS public bucket, enable static website hosting on OBS and select Static website hosting on CDN. Log in to OBS Console. In the navigation pane, choose Buckets. Click the name of the bucket to configure static website hosting.
If a Referer ACL Have Been Configured for an OBS Bucket, Will the Settings Take Effect on the CDN Side? No. The settings will not take effect. CDN cannot predict the OBS bucket configuration. Visit Referer Validation to learn how to configure it on the CDN side.

Configuring a Policy for a Custom OBS Private Bucket If you use a custom OBS private bucket as the CDN origin server, that is, use an OBS private bucket under another account as the origin server, you need to configure a policy for the private bucket on OBS Console.
How Do I Replace the Old OBS Agency Permissions with New Ones? Since April 2, 2025 (Beijing time), Huawei Cloud CDN has enabled the new OBS agency. It has fewer permissions than the old one. For details about their differences, see Table 1.
Why Are All Files in the Bucket Displayed When Users Request a File from an OBS Bucket Connected to CDN? A user that has the read permission on an OBS bucket can read the object list of the bucket.
The OBS bucket version is earlier than 3.0. Can CDN and OBS Share a Traffic Package? No. CDN traffic packages deduct the incoming and outgoing traffic of CDN PoPs. OBS traffic packages deduct OBS traffic. Can an OBS Bucket Domain Name Be Used as an Acceleration Domain Name? No.
Why Am I Able to Access and Download a File After It Is Deleted from an OBS Bucket? It is because the file still stays in the cache and the cache is not refreshed. You are advised to submit cache purge requests if content on the origin server is updated.
