EVS provides storage resources. An EVS disk is attached to each DN. All ECSs in a GaussDB(DWS) cluster are within the same VPC to ensure high-speed connections between them.
For details, see section "EVS Snapshot (OBT)" in the Elastic Volume Service Product Description. Parent topic: Backup and Restoration
Does a GaussDB(DWS) Snapshot Have the Same Function as an EVS Snapshot?
Recommended EVS disk space: Utilizing the aforementioned algorithm can be complex. It is advisable to configure the total EVS disk space to match the total data volume after compression, assuming a compression ratio of 5x.
For more information about snapshots, see EVS Snapshots. Parent topic: Backup and Restoration
Each region has its own shared public services (ECS, EVS, OBS, VPC, EIP, and IMS). Regions are either common or dedicated. A common region provides common cloud services available to all tenants.
Disk Capacity Expansion of an EVS Cluster Context As customer services evolve, disk space often becomes the initial bottleneck. In scenarios where other resources are ample, the conventional scale-out process is not only time-consuming but also resource-inefficient.

Cloud data warehouse + SSD cloud disk: Expand the disk capacity by referring Disk Capacity Expansion of an EVS Cluster.
The differences between cloud SSDs and local SSDs are as follows: Cloud SSDs Cloud SSDs use EVS as storage media and can be scaled out as data grows. This is more flexible. Cloud SSDs are not bound to the ECS flavor.
Changing GaussDB(DWS) Cluster Specifications Using the Elastic Specification Change Changing All Specifications Disk Capacity Expansion of an EVS Cluster Parent topic: GaussDB(DWS) Cluster O&M
Elastic specification change is supported only for storage-compute coupled clusters that use ECSs and EVS disks. You can choose Change node flavor to enable elastic specification change.
Similarly, you can calculate the EVS list price for the other periods. Discounted Amount Discounts offered for cloud services, for example, commercial discounts, partner authorized discounts, and promotional discounts. It is the discounted amount based on the list price.
