To scale out a storage-compute coupled data warehouse with cloud SSDs, see Disk Capacity Expansion of an EVS Cluster. To scale out a storage-compute coupled data warehouse with local SSDs or a standalone system, see Scaling Out a Cluster.
Elastic specification change is only supported by storage-compute coupled and decoupled clusters that use ECSs and EVS disks. Clusters with local ECSs do not have this capability.

Extreme SSD V2: ultra-high-performance SSD EVS disks dedicated for latency-sensitive mission-critical applications. Local SSD NOTE: Local SSD disks do not support disk scale-out.
Due to the decoupling of storage and compute, the EVS storage space in DWS 3.0 is half that of DWS 2.0 by default. For example, purchasing 1 TB of EVS storage provides 500 GB in DWS 3.0 for active/standby mode, compared to 1 TB in DWS 2.0.
In standalone mode, service availability is maintained through automatic ECS rebuilding, and data reliability is ensured through the EVS multi-copy mechanism. The standalone system is more cost-effective and recommended for lightweight services.
Storage Type Cloud SSD Cloud SSD: SSD EVS disks serve as data storage media, offering flexible storage capacity and supporting disk scale-out. Local SSD: Local disks in ECS flavors serve as data storage media, offering fixed capacity and superior performance.

When creating a local table in the storage-compute decoupling edition with all data stored on EVS disks, make sure to explicitly set colversion to 2.0. Once a table is created, it cannot be switched from a non-V3 table to a V3 table using the ALTER TABLE syntax.
Creating an ECS Server Create an ECS by referring to the Elastic Cloud Server User Guide. The following table lists the created flavors. TPC-DS and TPC-H data sets occupy large space. For example, TPC-DS 1000X and TPC-H 1000X occupy 930 GB and 1100 GB, respectively. Therefore, select
