There are two types of EVS snapshots: standard snapshots and legacy snapshots. Legacy snapshots are in OBT and free of charge. Standard snapshots are billed. Select the one type as required. Method 1: Create a backup for the ECS. For details, see ECS Backup Procedure.

If you disable the ECS recycle bin, that does not affect the EVS recycle bin. Prerequisites Before disabling ECS recycle bin, you need to recover or permanently delete any ECSs currently in the recycle bin.
Note the following when using these two types of disks to store data: Only an EVS disk can be used as the system disk of a D1 ECS. Both EVS disks and local disks can be used as data disks of a D1 ECS. A D1 ECS can be attached with up to 60 disks (including local disks).

Prerequisites To enable ECS recycle bin, you need to enable EVS recycle bin first. For details, see Enabling the Recycle Bin. Procedure Log in to the management console. Click in the upper left corner and select a region and project. Click .

Initializing an EVS data disk If you created a data disk when creating an ECS, initialize the data disk first before using it. For details, see Initializing Data Disks. Using an ECS After purchasing an ECS, you can build environments, websites, or applications on it.
Setting the Same Renewal Day for Yearly/Monthly Resources If the ECSs have different expiry dates or the ECSs and attached EVS disks have different expiry dates, you can set the same renewal day, for example, the first day of each month, to make it easier to manage renewals.
