Parent topic: Initializing EVS Data Disks
Because an EVS data disk currently supports up to 32 TiB, use GPT if your disk size is greater than 2 TiB.

You need to attach an EVS disk to the ECS and then migrate the local disk data to the EVS disk. Procedure Add an EVS disk. Add an EVS disk based on the amount of the local disk data to be backed up.
For more information about EVS disk specifications and performance, see Elastic Volume Service User Guide. Distributed architecture ECS provides scalable, reliable, and high-throughput virtual block storage on a distributed architecture.
The value is in UUID format. size Integer Specifies the EVS disk size in GB. device String Specifies the drive letter of the EVS disk, which is the device name of the EVS disk. pciAddress String Specifies the PCI address. bootIndex Boolean Specifies the EVS disk boot sequence. 0 indicates

Adding Backend Servers Elastic Volume Service (EVS) Allows you to attach EVS disks to an ECS and expand their capacity.
The value is in UUID format. size Integer Specifies the EVS disk size in GB. device String Specifies the drive letter of the EVS disk, displayed as the device name on the console.
Detach an EVS disk from the ECS before attaching a new EVS disk. Detach an EVS disk from the ECS before attaching a new EVS disk. Ecs.0105 No system disk found. Reattach the EVS system disk to the ECS and perform the desired operation again.
EVS Disk Encryption EVS disk encryption supports system disk encryption and data disk encryption.

Set parameters for the new EVS disk as prompted. For instructions about how to set EVS disk parameters, see Purchasing an EVS Disk. By default, the billing mode of the new disk is the same as that of the ECS. By default, the new disk is in the same region as the ECS.
