Yearly/Monthly quota: After an ECS or CCE cluster node is deleted, its yearly/monthly HSS quota is unbound from it and changes to the Idle state. You can bind a quota in Idle state to another ECS or CCE cluster node and enable protection. For details, see Binding a Quota.
Why Is a Deleted ECS Still Displayed in the HSS Server List? After an ECS is deleted, HSS does not synchronize its information immediately. Therefore, you may still see the deleted ECS in the HSS server list.
In the Scan Results column of the target server, check whether the ECS is risky. Move the cursor to the risky icon to view the risk distribution. Figure 3 Viewing ECS security situation Click the ECS name to go to the ECS details page and view and handle security risks.
After an ECS is purchased, the region cannot be changed. Exercise caution when selecting a region. AZ Random The system selects a default AZ based on your Universally Unique Identifier (UUID). The AZ of a purchased ECS cannot be changed.

Elastic Cloud Server (ECS) is a scalable and on-demand cloud server. It helps you to efficiently set up reliable, secure, and flexible application environments, ensuring stable service running and improving O&M efficiency.

Elastic Cloud Server (ECS)/Bare Metal Server (BMS) HSS agents can be installed on Huawei Cloud ECSs, BMSs, or third-party servers. You are advised to use Huawei Cloud servers for better and more reliable service experience.
Log in to the ECS console, locate the target server, and click Remote Login in the Operation column to log in to the server. For details, see Login Using VNC.

Step 1: Create an ECS Log in to the ECS console and buy an ECS. Configure ECS parameters as prompted. You are advised to configure some parameters by referring to Table 1 and configure other parameters based on site requirements.
The Elastic Cloud Server page is displayed. In the ECS list, click the name of an ECS. On the ECS details page, click the Security Groups tab and click Manage Rule. Click the Outbound Rules tab and add a rule, as shown in Table 1.
Every time you log in to an ECS, HSS will send a random verification code to your login page. You simply need to enter the code to log in. Figure 1 Setting Method to Verification code Parent topic: Security Configurations
Then, you can log in to the ECS as user root using the password. To prevent unauthorized users from using the key file to access the Linux ECS, delete the /root/.ssh/authorized_keys file or clear the authorized_keys file. Parent topic: Security Configurations
For details, see Creating an ECS from an Image. Fix the vulnerability on the new ECS and verify the result. Switch services over to the new ECS and verify they are stably running. Release the original ECS.

Log in to the ECS as user Administrator and delete the following file: C:\Program Files\HostGuard\run\agent_info.conf Stop the ECS and use it to create an image. For details, see Creating an Image. Use the image created in step 6 to create servers in batches.
Automatic Installation During Server Purchase When purchasing a Huawei Cloud ECS, if you enable HSS, HSS will install its agent on the ECS and protect the ECS.
HSS can protect Huawei Cloud ECS servers, Huawei Cloud BMS servers, Huawei Cloud Workspace, third-party cloud servers, and on-premises IDC servers, helping you centrally manage diversified servers deployed in the same region.
