How Can I Back Up an RDS for PostgreSQL Database to an ECS? You can back up data to an ECS the same way you export SQL statements. The ECS service does not have restrictions on the types of data to be backed up as long as the data complies with local laws and regulations.
Ping the affected EIP from another ECS in the same region. Use another ECS in the same region to ping the EIP. If the EIP can be pinged, the virtual network is normal. Contact technical support. Parent Topic: Database Connection
The backup files stored in Object Storage Service (OBS) and the Elastic Cloud Server (ECS) used by RDS are invisible to you. They are only visible in the RDS backend management system.
If you connect to the DB instance through a private network, the ECS and DB instance must be in the same VPC and the DB instance can be accessed only through the ECS. If you connect to the DB instance through a public network, the ECS and DB instance can be in different VPCs.
Will My Access Be Restricted by Bandwidth When I Connect to My RDS for PostgreSQL Instance from an ECS over a Private Network? No. Parent Topic: Database Connection
Troubleshoot RDS for PostgreSQL connection failures caused by a client problem by checking the following items: ECS Security Policy In Windows, check whether the RDS for PostgreSQL instance port is enabled in the Windows security policy.
On the ECS, check whether the RDS for PostgreSQL instance port can be connected. The default port of RDS for PostgreSQL is 5432. curl -kv EIP:5432 If the ECS can connect to the DB instance, no further action is required.

Preparations Prepare an ECS for accessing DB instances in the same VPC or prepare a device for accessing RDS through an EIP. To connect to a DB instance through an ECS, you need to create an ECS first.
To connect to a DB instance through an ECS, you must first create an ECS. The region, AZ, VPC, subnet, and security group of the ECS are the same as those of the RDS for PostgreSQL DB instance to be upgraded. Install a PostgreSQL client on the ECS created in 2.
For details about how to purchase a Linux ECS, see Purchasing a Custom ECS in Elastic Cloud Server User Guide. On the ECS Information page, view the region and VPC of the ECS.
To download a PostgreSQL client to the ECS, bind an EIP to the ECS. For details about how to purchase a Linux ECS, see Purchasing a Custom ECS in Elastic Cloud Server User Guide. On the ECS Information page, view the region and VPC of the ECS.

If your applications are deployed on an ECS that is in the same region and VPC as your RDS DB instance, you are advised to use a private IP address to connect the ECS and RDS DB instance.
An ECS has been created and associated with an EIP. In this example, the ECS uses the CentOS 8.2 64-bit image. Installing Python3 PoWA-collector and PoWA-web must be installed in a Python3 environment. You can use pip3 to install them to facilitate the installation.

When your applications are deployed on an ECS that is in the same region and VPC as the RDS for PostgreSQL instance, you are advised to use a floating IP address to connect to the instance through the ECS.

ECS resource contention (non-dedicated instances) A rare cause for kernel-mode CPU time percentage greater than 20% is ECS resource contention. This mainly occurs in non-dedicated instances (including general-purpose and general-enhanced instances).
