Specify ECS Name and Password. Click Next: Confirm. Select an enterprise project, select the Agreement option, and click Submit. Return to the ECS list page and view the creation progress. When the ECS status changes to Running, the ECS has been created.
The ECS must be in the same region, VPC, and security group as the DB instance for mutual communications. For details about how to purchase a Windows ECS, see Purchasing an ECS in Elastic Cloud Server Getting Started.

How Can I Back Up a TaurusDB Database to an ECS? You can back up data to an ECS in the same way you export SQL statements. The ECS service does not have restrictions on the types of data to be backed up as long as the data complies with local laws and regulations.

Creating an ECS and Installing a MySQL Client on It Create an ECS for installing a MySQL client by referring to Creating an ECS (MySQL Server). This ECS must be in the same region, AZ, VPC, and security group as the ECS where the MySQL server is deployed.
If no security group has been created, go to the VPC console from the ECS details page and create a security group. On the ECS, check whether the TaurusDB instance port can be connected.
Ping the affected IP address from another ECS in the same region. Solution Check whether the ECS and TaurusDB instance are in the same VPC. If they are in the same VPC, go to 2.
Locate the ECS ecs-mysql and click Remote Login in the Operation column. Select CloudShell-based Login. Enter the password of user root. The password is the one you specified during the ECS creation.

Procedure Preparing for the Migration Prepare an ECS in the same VPC and subnet as the TaurusDB instance or bind an EIP to the TaurusDB instance. To connect to an instance through a private network, an ECS has to be created first. Purchase an ECS and log in to the ECS.

Ping the affected EIP from another ECS in the same region. If you cannot ping the DB instance's EIP from an ECS, ping it from another ECS in the same region. If the EIP can be pinged, the network is normal. In this case, submit a service ticket.

Operation Process The process involves creating an ECS, installing a MySQL database on it, buying a TaurusDB instance, and migrating data from the database to the TaurusDB instance. Figure 1 shows the main operation flowchart.
When your applications are deployed on an ECS that is in the same region and VPC as your TaurusDB instance, you are advised to connect the ECS to the instance over a private IP address.
