How Can I Back Up a GaussDB Database to an ECS? You can back up data to an ECS in the same way you export SQL statements. The ECS service does not have restrictions on the types of data to be backed up as long as the data complies with local laws and regulations.

Click in the upper left corner of the page and choose Computing > Elastic Cloud Server to go to the Elastic Cloud Server console. On the page that is displayed, click Buy ECS. Configure basic settings and click Next: Configure Network.

If not all outbound traffic is allowed in the security group, you need to configure an outbound rule for the ECS to allow all outbound packets. If the ECS and GaussDB instance are in different VPCs, you can bind an EIP to the ECS and use the EIP to connect to the instance.
Ping the ECS to the instance in the same region. If the GaussDB instance's EIP is unreachable from the ECS, try pinging it from another ECS in the same region. If the EIP is reachable, the virtual network is normal.
All Kunpeng ECS flavors do not support inconsecutive ports. If you use inconsecutive port numbers in a security group rule of a Kunpeng ECS, this rule and rules configured after this one do not take effect.

Create a GaussDB instance and an ECS in the same VPC and access the GaussDB instance through the ECS. For details, see Using gsql to Connect to an Instance. Parent topic: Database Connections
Each component is deployed on its own ECS, guaranteeing uninterrupted performance with exclusive resources. For example, in the default configuration (3 CNs, 3 replicas, and 3 shards), a total of 18 ECSs are required, including three CNs, nine DNs, three CMSs, and three GTMs.
Ping the ECS to the instance in the same region. If the affected EIP can be pinged from another ECS in the same region, the virtual network is functional. In such a case, submit a service ticket to contact technical support. Parent topic: Database Connections
Tiered pricing based on fixed bandwidth 0 Mbit/s to 5 Mbit/s (included): billed at a fixed unit price per Mbit/s Greater than 5 Mbit/s: billed at a different price per Mbit/s For details about the unit price, see section "Bandwidth Price" on ECS Pricing Details, or see EIP Pricing
Kunpeng dedicated Minimum specifications: Centralized 4 vCPUs | 16 GB (General-purpose, Dedicated, and Kunpeng dedicated) Distributed Combined deployment: 16 vCPUs | 64 GB (Dedicated and Kunpeng dedicated) NOTE: For a combined deployment, all components must be deployed on a single ECS
Public services, such as Elastic Cloud Server (ECS), Elastic Volume Service (EVS), Object Storage Service (OBS), Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Elastic IP (EIP), and Image Management Service (IMS), are shared within the same region. Regions can be universal or dedicated.
The backup files stored in OBS and the ECS used by GaussDB are invisible to you. They are visible only in the GaussDB instance management system. When viewing the instance list, ensure that the current region is the same as the region where the instance is purchased.
For details, see Logging In to a Linux ECS Using VNC in Elastic Cloud Server User Guide.
