ECS An Elastic Cloud Server (ECS) is a basic computing unit that consists of vCPUs, memory, OS, and Elastic Volume Service (EVS) disks. After an ECS is created, you can use it as your local PC or physical server. You can create a custom image on premises or on an ECS.
Log in to the ECS and run the following command to install Docker.
After an ECS is created, you can mount a data disk to the ECS or expand the capacity of the system disk on the ECS. The recommended value is not smaller than 100 GB.
Public services, such as Elastic Cloud Server (ECS), Elastic Volume Service (EVS), Object Storage Service (OBS), Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Elastic IP (EIP), and Image Management Service (IMS), are shared within the same region.
How Do I Reduce the Size of an Image Created Locally or on ECS? Will an Image Be Smaller If I Uninstall and Repackage It or Simply Delete Existing Datasets from the Image? What Do I Do If Error "ModelArts.6787" Is Reported When I Register an Image on ModelArts?
You can purchase an ECS of the same specifications or use an existing local host to create a custom image. For details about how to purchase an ECS, see Purchasing and Logging In to a Linux ECS. When creating the ECS, select an Ubuntu 18.04 public image.

Prerequisites You have obtained the ECS where the SNAT function is to be deployed. The ECS where the SNAT function is to be deployed runs the Linux OS. The ECS where the SNAT function is to be deployed has only one network interface card (NIC) configured.
Request the required number of ECS instances, CPU cores, RAM capacity (memory size), and EVS disk capacity. Contact your customer manager for quota details.

Log in to ECS as user root and enter the login command. Figure 1 Login command executed on ECS Log in to SWR and run the docker tag command to add tags to the image to be uploaded. In this case, deep-learning is used as an example.
For details, see Creating a Custom Image on ECS and Using It. Scenario 2: Build and register a custom image for AI development based on the preset image or third-party image in a notebook instance and ma-cli commands. For details, see ma-cli Image Building Command.

Create an ECS that uses the same CIDR block as SFS Turbo and mount the SFS Turbo to the ECS. If mounting failed, SFS Turbo is abnormal. If SFS Turbo is abnormal, contact SFS technical support. If SFS Turbo is normal, contact ModelArts technical support.
The compute flavor is Compute-intensive ECS 1-ExeML (CPU) (unit price: $6.93 USD/hour) for model training and Compute-intensive 3 instance (CPU) for service deployment (unit price: $0.23 USD/hour). The billing items are compute and storage resources.
